During routine quality controls Skywalk has determined that gliders with the serial numbers listed below may suffer from problems with glue penetration from the self-adhesive tapes used for strengthening when subject to hight temperatures. Photo: self-adhesive strengthening tapes
Problems are due to faulty production of the self-adhesive tapes. In the worst-case, the top- and lower-surfaces of a canopy could stick together and influence flying characteristics of the glider.
Products effected include paragliders of type CHILI2, CAYENNE3 and JOINT2 with the serial numbers listed below. Skywalk issues together with the DHV, the following Safety Advisory:
Paragliders with serial numbers listed below must be inspected before the next flight. The inspection may only be conducted by Skywalk (for Germany, Austria and Switzerland) or one of its authorised dealers.
For this, Skywalf will contact owners in Germany, Austria and Switzerland to organise transport and inspection.
Skywalk will pay for transport charges (both ways) and any necessary repairs.
The DHV recommends storing all paragliders in cool temperate places, and not to expose a paraglider to extreme temperatures or direct sunlight (for example in a vehicle) for prolonged periods, as this may cause materials to deteriorate.
Skywalk regrets the inconvenience to its customers and guarantees a minimum of delays for the inspection.
