The manufacturer Gin Gliders has issued a safety notice regarding its GTO 3 paragliders (all sizes).

The GTO 3 model uses both Dyneema and Kevlar lines for the risers. Although the affected paragliders left the factory with the correct line geometry and trim, these two materials exhibit different properties over time with regard to their dimensional stability. In particular, Dyneema lines may shrink more than Kevlar lines after approximately 100 flight hours. This can result in changes to the trim.

Gin Gliders instructs GTO 3 owners to check the line lengths—or have them checked—no later than 100 flight hours. If deviations exceed 10 mm, the paraglider must no longer be flown, and the defective lines must be replaced.

Instructions for the inspection can be found on the Gin Gliders website.
